Cheesey Damper Knots

Cheesey Damper Knots

Ingredients

  • 125g self raising flour
  • 125g self raising wholemeal flour
  • 20g Australian Skim Milk Powder
  • 3 spring onions, finely chopped
  • 90g grated Australian Cheddar Cheese
  • 250ml Pauls Milk
  • egg yolk, for glazing
  • poppy seeds, for sprinkling

Method

  1. Sift flours and milk powder together.
  2. Mix in spring onions and cheese.
  3. Make a well in the centre, add milk and combine to form a soft dough.
  4. Knead lightly on a floured board until smooth.
  5. Divide into 6 pieces, roll each piece out to approximately 15cm and fold to form a knot.
  6. Place on a buttered baking tray, brush with egg yolk and sprinkle with poppy seeds and bake at 220°C for 15 minutes.

HINT: Try substituting 1/2 cup grated carrot or grated zucchini for the spring onion.
