Buttermilk Scones
Ingredients
- 3½ tablespoons butter
- 220ml Pauls Buttermilk
- 250g plain flour
- 2 teaspoons castor sugar
- 2½ teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon bi-carb soda
Method
- Melt butter and combine with buttermilk.
- Sift dry ingredients in a bowl and make a well in the centre.
- Add the buttermilk mixture and stir until just combined.
- Turn onto a floured board and knead lightly.
- Roll out to about 2cm thick and cut into scones (do not turn the cutter).
- Place scones close together on a lightly greased baking tray.
- Bake at 230°C for 10-12 minutes.
- Serve warm with strawberry jam and Pauls Dollop Style Thickened Cream.
